I have been studying ballet since I was a small child. At 19 I discovered the Cecchetti Method and fell in love with the clarity of the work. My previous Cecchetti teachers have included Deborah Korpi, in Waco, Tx, and Renata Sanford in Austin, Tx. Presently I am studying with Dr. Kathleen Tenniswood in San Antonio. I have received Pass Commended scores on all my Teacher and Student examinations. I have completed Grades I-IV in the Teacher’s program and am presently working on my Gr. V exam.
I have a 100% success rate when presenting students for examinations. Most students receive a Pass Plus or higher.

About the Studio
Location: 4530 Bridgewood, San Antonio, TX 78217 CLICK FOR GOOGLE MAP
The studio is located in my home and is complete with a wood sprung floor, floor to ceiling mirrors and double barres. The present floor is covered in a pergo laminate. Pointe work is not allowed in the studio due to safety issues. I am looking to acquire a Marley overlay before the end of the next season to allow for pointe work. Pointe work is not necessary during the beginning Cecchetti levels. Through building the studio in my home, I am able to offer private and semi-private ballet lessons at an affordable rate due to low overhead costs.
About the Program
My goal with offering this program is to compliment the work being taught in the other studios around town. I am the only private ballet teacher offering this coursework. The only other studio offering the Cecchetti Syllabi training in San Antonio, or the surrounding areas, is St. Mary’s Hall after-school dance program. Moreso, there are no other studios offering any type of syllabi-work in San Antonio or the surrounding areas. Many schools no longer offer the syllabi/examination process for students because the studios are either production studios (focusing on running a student company) or competition studios (focusing on winning dance contests). Pure Ballet has a clear advantage in not having to produce any dance programs of any kind and can focus solely on ballet technique, training, and mastery. Students who wish to secure a profession in the dance field must continue to study with their dance studios. Learning just one style of ballet technique will leave a student ill-prepared for anything outside of the one style of ballet. However, failure to solidify a ballet technique can be limiting for the student who wishes to become a professional ballet dancer. Strong, solid ballet technique is an incredible asset for any dance student. Acquiring clean ballet technique will positively influence all other areas of dance.
